Your group head gasket and screen will need to be replaced at least every year, depending on how much you use your machine and how clean you keep it. We now supply the new countersunk screen and new screw in this kit. If you had the old screw that was sticking out below the screen you wouldn't have been able to use a puck screen, now you can with this new setup from Rancilio. The image shows all three items that you will receive.
This is the new upgraded screen and screw from Rancilio so don't worry if yours looks different, this will fit. The old screen 40200005 has been discontinued by Rancilio.
What you get in the kit:
The dual boiler (Silvia Pro X) should only be descaled professionally to save damage to your machine.
You should be back-flushing your machine regularly (every month), to back-flush your machine you will need a blank filter and also detergent.
You should also be descaling your Silvia single boiler regularly with descaler.
You can also use this handy brush to help prolong the life of your gasket, you use it to clean the group head gasket from time to time.
